If you're a real patriot, you've already read the Goodwill thread and know that the fastest ways to gain Goodwill is to DM for other players. These are the rules on what you can and can't do as a player DM.

Before that though, here's a disclaimer: you can always reach out to me or any staff DM and ask if something is alright. If you have a wild concept, I would rather you err on the side of executing it than holding off for fear of backlash.

Can I edit builds as a player DM? Preferably not, unless you really know what you're doing and change it back right after the event! Exception for if it's your build or you have the express permission of the build's owner.

Stuff you can always do, no caveats:

  • Wild animals.
  • Normal people.
  • Things that you could otherwise do as a character (i.e. if you have a settlement with a magical nuclear reactor, you can DM something related to it going critical or the like).

Stuff you can never do without explicit permission (just ask first):

  • Anything that would have huge ramifications for the canon (ancient civilizations, divine conflict, new classes of entity, this is not an exhaustive list).

Rewards you're always fine to hand out:

  • A non-life changing amount of money or valuable commodities.
  • Mundane gear.
  • Cool keepsakes.

Rewards you should really ask a DM if it's OK to hand out beforehand:

  • A life changing amount of money or valuable commodities.
  • Magical gear or stuff made of exceptionally rare materials.
  • Spells and the like.
