MYSTERIOUS MALADY

A strange malady has struck the poor little fisher town of Gillsmouth, as if its citizens didn't have enough on their plate already. Between the demonic activity, supernatural apparitions, and strange creatures lurking about, it is no wonder the mayor is calling for help again! There appear to be several grades of severeness to this disease, which are gradually unfolding in real time, to the horror of the patients themselves.

It all originated from the well... The one place that gave life to these poor sods has turned to the source of their impending doom. Plague Doctors roam the streets now, moving from patient to patient, doing what they can to lift their spirits and find a cure. They've advised to put the town on lockdown entirely, leave the citizens to their fate, and abandon the town before the illness spreads.

But they wouldn't have it... They? Yes, them, the adventurers, with their good intentions and stout hearts. Can they truly deliver relief and bring down the threat that is facing Gillsmouth? And what of the treasures that they may unearth while they explore the forsaken disease-ridden tunnels for a cure, deep in the deep dark hole of the well? Are they even safe to bring to the surface?

THE MYSTERIOUS MALADY SYMPTOMS
You may choose how long to stay in each of the stages
and whether your character reaches the next stage at all.
This disease does not affect demons, but does affect the mortal half they possess.

STAGE 1
Starts with: Sudden rushes of energy, being able to perform tasks faster and better than usual
Leading into: A runny nose / excessive earwax / dry throat or all three of them.

STAGE 2
Starts with: All of the above + Finger- and Toenails start to fall off painlessly
Leading into: Blackening of fingertips and toes

STAGE 3
The disease is now infectious
Starts with: Ear ache, nose ache, throat ache.
Leading into: Small fungi start growing out of ears, nose, and/or throat, spreading the infectious spores to those around you.

STAGE 4
Starts with: Wanting to be in high places far from the ground because of a fear of being close to the ground
Leading into: Muscles tighten and relax involuntarily at irregular intervals

STAGE 5
Starts with: After climbing as high as possible, there is an unyielding tightening of muscles so as to not fall from this point.
Leading into: Death, after which a tall mushroom grows out of the skull and upwards, releasing hell-spores from this high vantage point.

Most of the times, these take place at 19.00 BST and you can sign up by replying there.

The parties consists of a maximum of 4 players, sometimes 5 if necessary.

FROM SPORE TO CURE

Exploration, Persuasion or Combat, Research

The book of fungi has been uncovered. Now it is time to peruse these infernal scriptures and translate them into something comprehensible. Something that will help us understand the spores and hopefully, in extension, create a cure… Once the book has yielded the answers we need, we can create a cure and bring this crisis to an end.

To start this quest, the puzzle of the fungal tome must be solved and all other quests must be completed first.

Completing this quest unlocks the FINALE of ACT 2!!
