Oozes emerge and make their home wherever filth and gore accumulate in excess, such as sewers, battlefields, neglected hospital wards. Wherever this rot gathers, an Ooze may be forming beneath it.

P H Y S I O L O G Y

Oozes are gelatinous masses of waste such as rotting food, liquid refuse, and viscera. Their bodies are translucent with whatever they are currently processing visible and slowly dissolving within. They range from 3 to 8 feet in height and width. At their core sits a coral-shaped heart or brain.

ㅤDiet: Anything organic, though it will often accidentally ingest inorganic matter.

ㅤLifespan: It is biologically immortal, reverting to a younger life cycle when necessary.

[Proliferate] Once an ooze exceeds a certain size, it may split its body to create a second ooze. This new ooze remains an extension of the first until it feeds on enough waste to create a new brain.

B E H A V I O U R

Oozes drag their heavy masses with no purpose beyond consumption and expansion. They can remain dormant for weeks at a time, but will eventually seek out new hunting grounds if they have been deprived of a meal for long enough.

A B I L I T I E S

[Devour] An Ooze can swallow any being or object that fits inside its body. Despite being little more than animated waste, they move with startling speed when feeding. Even brief contact is enough to be pulled inside, where digestion begins immediately. Anything consumed generally dies within minutes from suffocation and dissolves completely within a day.

[Acid] The same viscous liquid used for digestion can be launched at range. It's a spray of brown-yellow acid that eats away at organic material on contact and results in nasty chemical burns.

W E A K N E S S E S

Oozes are resilient against most conventional attacks. However, should they be exposed to extreme temperatures, they become weak. In prolonged cold they shrink and die. In prolonged heat they melt and die. Anything that was being digested in their bodies is pushed out once they die.

Whatever it held inside its body. The oxygenless environment inside the slime makes it unexpectedly good at preserving inorganic materials.
