THE TWO BROTHERS
Silas & Know
God of Self-Sacrifice & God of Self-Interest
Gods of Knowledge, Counsel, and Enlightenment

Two masks, each hiding the same face. Two doors that open into the same room. Two brothers, who share the same whole. Silas and Know are the same entity, but also aren’t. One presents a loving, grateful demeanor of a god who would bestow any gift unto his beloved followers. The other seems not malicious per say, but as if he is only interested in Alterans insofar as Alterans are useful and vital to him. In spite of their different faces, both act in unison as one whole, united in common cause.

Recent Events
The Fair Union. Silas, freed. Know, complicit in the crime. Their mortal followers rejoiced, for the two cosmic entities became one. Visage, for his part, did not fight at all in the end. He relinquished Silas and the mantle of Knowledge as easily as water spilled from a cup.

Confrontation With the Daughter of Grief. They did… nothing. Though they are divine, they have not made their way into the halls of the Pantheon. They were too young, too newly made, to intervene.

Tenets
- Share your counsel freely.
- Be of one whole, and one faith. There is one truth. One divine. One interpretation. Do not divide into many churches, but be many chapters of one single faith.
- Pursue knowledge for its own sake.
- Preserve all knowledge. If it would be dangerous for someone to learn of something, it is better for the recipient of the knowledge to be prepared than for the knowledge to be destroyed.

Agenda
The brothers want their faithful to…

Secure patronage. Find a sponsor for your work. Find some means of investing 1 unit of their Wealth into your work.

Mentor others in the faith. Find an unblessed person, and mentor them through the process of becoming first an initiate and then an acolyte.

Restore apostates. Those who have left the faith should be welcomed back into it with open arms. Find those who abandoned their blessings, and convince them to return to the church.

Blessings
Those blessed by Silas and Know do not necessarily change their appearance dramatically. However, those that do find effects ranging from the relatively subtle (their eyes lightening to an eventual silvery glow), to the profound (becoming quite rotund as Know often appears).

All blessed have the following ability:

Arcane Exception. They are able to learn and practice arcane magic freely.

Initiates choose one of the following blessings:

Telekinesis. They are able to manipulate objects within about five meters around themselves. They can’t lift anything heavier than they could lift themselves, and can’t launch them with any more force than that either. They also cannot use this ability to perform actions simultaneously with their own body’s (i.e. striking with a telekinetically controlled sword at the same time as one in their own hand), unless they spend an entire age dedicated to practicing this ability.

Bookminder. Books marked by the blessed’s signature are now bound to them. They know when the book has been touched, and by who. If someone writes in the book, they know exactly what was written.

Acolytes choose one of the following blessings:

Guiding Omniscience. They know exactly where they have to go, what they have to read, and/or who they have to speak to in order to find the answer to the question on their mind.

Linguistic Omniscience. They understand all uncoded language in whatever form it is communicated. They cannot themselves communicate in it without practice, but they can understand it.

Blessed who choose to advance beyond the rank of Acolyte may choose to become…

An Archivist. With access to Know’s Archive, a place that they can enter by entering a meditative state for a few seconds, during which time their eyes are completely white. While there, they can seek the answer to any question. Roll 2d6. If you roll doubles, the worst possible truth that your character could comprehend at that time is revealed to them or they go insane from knowledge they are totally unprepared for. Otherwise, they learn the answer to their question.

Free. They can never be imprisoned. If a locked door is between themselves and freedom, the door unlocks at their touch. Bindings with intent to restrain them simply come apart. Gags in their mouth fall out. Magically, any attempt to restrain them or their freedom are undone effortlessly.
